A special administrative region of China, Hong Kong is an exotic destination, with more than 250 islands. Once a British Colony, Hong Kong became a part of China in 1997. Apart from a hot tourist center, Hong Kong is also regarded as a great business center, and is sometimes referred to as the ‘Gateway to the booming economy of China.’ Further, in contrast to other Asian destinations, Hong Kong has a very low crime rate, and hence considered a safe place to live in.

Since a former British colony, a strong influence of westernized culture is prevalent here. Al though, majority of Hong Kong’s population is made up of Chinese, the city also include people from other nations including Australia, the UK, Canada, Japan, and Korea. Probably for this reason, real estate market in Hong Kong is booming.

Whether you are a permanent resident or a tourist to the city, Hong Kong boasts of a continuum of accommodation options, according to your taste, lifestyle, and budget. Hotels, resorts, condotels, and villas would be some of the best accommodation for people touring Hong Kong for a short period. For long stays as well as permanent settlements, some of the much favored accommodation choices are single detached homes, flats, apartments, and townhouses.

A condominium living is quite different from other residential choices including owning or renting an apartment, villa, or a single dwelling space. When you decide to stay in a condominium it means that you have made up your mind to live with a group of other condominium owners. Depending upon your tastes and preferences, a variety of condo units are available in Hong Kong, from low budget condominiums to high end luxury condominium complexes. Different types of condominiums available here include apartment model condo units and townhouse, which is mostly attached with garage and yard space. Hong Kong condominiums are also sometimes available in the form of single detached buildings.

Condominiums units in Hong Kong are mostly replete with expansive living rooms, superb bedrooms coupled with relaxed beds, sophisticated kitchen, and bath area. No matter it is small or big, luxury or ordinary, condominium units in Hong Kong mostly come with such amenities as cable television, heating and air conditioning facilities, provision for hot and cold water, balcony providing excellent views, and professional services.

Luxury units usually include high-end common facilities such as laundry facilities, game rooms, whirlpool spas and saunas, swimming pools, meeting rooms, parking areas, round the clock on-site security system, intercom security system, on-site office for property management, solarium with areas for gatherings and social activities, specialized areas for outdoor recreational activities, salons with expert massage therapist, parking areas, and on-site workshop.

Owning a condominium in Hong Kong offers a myriad of benefits. One of the great benefits of living in condo units is that it enables you to reside in a well-controlled community. Security is another key benefit of living in Hong Kong, as many of the condominiums are attached with top-end monitoring system.

Benefits of living in condominium also include low interior as well as exterior maintenance costs and access to such facilities as elevators and swimming pools. Mostly, people staying in condominium complexes have common lifestyle and preferences, which in turn allow you to lead a comfortable life. For instance, there are condominium units especially designed and constructed for people like retirees and single people.

Above all, purchasing a condominium unit in Hong Kong is considered a great long term investment, guaranteeing excellent returns. However, the price of condominium units is exceptionally high in contrast to other accommodations options such as apartments and single houses.

However, it is important to consider certain important matters prior to purchasing a condominium in Hong Kong. The rules and regulations pertaining to condo units vary from condominiums to condominiums.

In certain cases, the condominium association or group put forward some kind of restrictions to own pets or to use a particular facility. Hence, such matters must be checked for. Purchasing or renting a condo unit in Hong Kong is no longer a tedious process. A myriad of real estate companies and property builders are there in order to help you find a condo unit that suits your requirements.

At Paramount Properties, we’re dedicated to providing the best possible Ottawa apartment rental experiences to our tenants. With great locations, top quality service, and exceptional value, it’s easy to see why our apartments for rent in Ottawa are the best in the city. But don’t take our word for it – just have a look at this letter of one of our Downtown Ottawa apartment tenants:

Dear Paramount Properties;

I’m sending you this email just to say “thank you” for helping me finally find the student apartment I was looking for. I’m a student at the University of Ottawa, and ever since I first came to Ottawa I’ve been looking for a great student apartment that would not only get me close to my classes, but get me close to everything else in Downtown Ottawa, too. After living in a couple other apartment buildings this past year, let me just say that I’ve finally found the exact student apartment I was looking for – and then some!

First of all, I couldn’t believe my luck when I found one of your great apartments in Downtown Ottawa – it’s called Centretown Place, and the location is better than I could ever imagine! The apartment is just a few blocks away from everything I love about Ottawa – the Byward Market, the Rideau Centre, all of the stores on Bank Street … pretty much everything I need in the downtown core! It’s even located right on the Transitway, so I can get to my classes in just a couple of minutes, or take the bus across town quickly and easily to meet up with friends in Westboro, at Algonquin College, or wherever!

While the location is excellent, I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable a Downtown Ottawa apartment could actually be. And not only is the rent affordable, but it also includes a whole bunch of additional services and features like the pool, sauna, air conditioning in my room … I really feel like I’m getting the most value for my rent every month at my new apartment. Oh yeah – I really like the smart card laundry machines! It’s so nice not have to keep a collection of quarters on me at all times!

I’ve recommended Paramount Properties to a bunch of my friends, as I know they’re all looking for a great student apartment in Downtown Ottawa. Like I said, I’ve lived in a couple other apartment buildings in the city, but I can definitely say that renting a downtown apartment from your company really is the best choice for students like me.

Thanks again for everything!

Apartment Hunting Tips – Tips to Consider Before Choosing Apartment Rent

Author: / Category: Real Estate
Jennifer Walter asked:

Renting an apartment represents a strenuous task that requires all of your attention and focus because the final decision will be important for a variety of reasons. Choosing an apartment where to live in for rent, you need to consider several factors related to price, included amenities, location, size, roommate or no roommate and the period of time for which you envision to stay. Those planning to rent a flat need to look over all their options before coming down to that final decision. The guidelines described below will help you with your decision.

Make sure You Visit as much as possible

Renting an apartment represents all about visiting and seeing. Investigate what options are in the area you plan to stay into and then start looking for the sources in which you can find offers of rented apartment. You need to be aware of the bigger context of the whole situation so that you can make the best decision in your case. Therefore, to find out available apartments for rent, you could make some online research or use rental magazines or specialized catalogues where offers of rentals are usually displayed. Once you do that, circle the most interesting ones and then consider visiting the apartments that most interest you, because that way, you will be able to get some sense of the size, location, amenities and most important, the price of the apartment for rent. Thus, you will see on the spot how the apartment looks like and generally, there is no other, better way to be able to narrow your list to a few apartments.

Consider the roommate topic as well. Would you want to have some roommate or more than one roommate? Usually, the prices go down in an obvious way because you are basically splitting the costs together. However, depending on the characters of the roommate, this might make your period in the apartment bearable or not. It can all turn into a significantly better situation or a significantly worse situation, therefore you need to make your decision by taking into account the possibility of a roommate as well. Compatibility, respect for one another, capability to pay the bills and the desire to participate in the household chores are things that you need to discuss or address with your roommate(s).

For one thing, having roommate would mean that you will get to save some extra money each month. Large apartments that are not affordable for one single person can become affordable once you find yourself some roommates and split the costs in pieces. Apartments designed for several people to live accommodate larger living spaces, bigger kitchens, dining room and even family rooms. The space offered and the degree of comfort seem appealing to many people who now envision finding a roommate and settling down with the rental of the apartment.

Nonetheless, before making any irrational decision based on the impulse of the moment, it is necessary that you consider carefully whether you would want to live with roommate. Strangers do not often make good matches in terms of pairing up to live in an apartment and you should know the person really well because you are going to split things up and have access to one’s possessions. You first need to trust one another before choosing to do anything else.

Living styles trust issues and different personalities can always endanger the safety of your relationship with your roommate and thus, create frustration when having to share with a person you don’t like. For instance, your roommate enjoys staying late into the night, watching television or listening to music. Your other roommate might want to go to bed early and rise up early; therefore compatibility regarding sleeping hours is also a thing to consider. Some conflicts may arise if compromise is not accepted. Thus, you need to let go things from yourself in order to create a peaceful environment in the apartment.

Reading the Clauses of the Contract with Extreme care

While you are considering taking or not taking a roommate in the rented apartment, you first need to look carefully at the contract and at the clauses stipulated in it before you can settle down with your decision. For one thing, you need to know that the rental agreement is legal documentation and therefore, before signing it, it is important that you read whatever is stipulated in the contract. Renters are sometimes signing blindly things and thus they might never get to know what they signed for. Because of this, disputes arise and sometimes the righter does not even know that he or she has no right to protest once having signed the contract. Therefore, you need to pay careful attention to the requirements, read everything carefully and only then, put your signature on the piece of paper.
